Description

HCI ProStep 6000 Exercise Stepmill - Stair climber - climbing machine

The ProSTEP 6000 Exercise Stepmill provides a natural low impact lower body and aerobic workout that eliminates the standard jarring impact on the feet, knees and hips that is experienced when using a treadmill. The overall design is simple to use and requires little or no instructions. A user friendly control panel prompts you through every function. Combined with a mobile, compact foot print and only an 8’ ceiling requirement, the ProSTEP 6000 becomes the perfect choice for any Health Club, Medical Rehab Facility or Home.

ELECTROMAGNETIC RESISTANCE SYSTEM

An electromagnetic resistance system acts as a breaking mechanism to slow down the RPM and thus controls the speed of the machines, which is measured as "Steps per Minute." The weight of the user activates and powers the ProSTEP 6000 thus eliminating the need for an electrical drive motor. The power consumption of the ProSTEP 6000 is equivalent to that of a 60 watt light bulb.

UNIQUE "STEP LOCK" SYSTEM

The "Step Lock System" feature allows the user to program his workout information while standing on the stairs without the stairs moving. Also the "Step Lock" feature uses a photo optic sensor that senses if the users has shifted to the bottom step and will automatically stop and ask if you wish to proceed. The "Step Lock" feature can also be manually overridden at any time by the user.

COMPUTER CONTROL SYSTEM

A user friendly control panel allows the user to select a workout target to either; total exercise time, floors climbed or calories burned. At anytime during the workout the user can manually override the machine.

Pro STEP 6000 and Stair Climbing Benefits
Serious About Losing Weight and Burning More Calories in Less Time? Lifting your body weight vertically requires significantly more effort than moving horizontally. Climbing stairs burns considerably more calories than walking on flat ground or a treadmill. Exercising on the ProSTEP 6000 burns approximately 11calories per minute for the average user and even more for the advanced user. This is one of the highest calorie consumption of any exercise device or physical activity.

Maximum Results: Stair climbing continues to be one of the most natural and beneficial exercises. Because stair climbing exercises and tones the largest muscles in the body, including the buttocks, hips, thighs and calves it provides fast results. The natural stair climbing movement also provides an excellent cadio-respiratory workout.

Increase Oxygen Intake and Muscle Strength: Stepping up (climbing stairs) helps boost oxygen intake and muscle strength. The knee joint position changes from a flexion to extension. The Tibia, being held by the Ankle joint cannot turn. At the same time the Femur is under internal rotation, plus the centripetal contraction of the Femoral Quadriceps then produces the movement which stabilizes the joints. Compared to a Stepping down action which causes counter-action impact conveyed from the floor and the body-weight, which acts on the Knee Joint and the Lumbar Vertebrae adding stresses which can easily cause damage.

Improve Bone Density: Increase “Good” HDL Cholesterol - According to Health Research studies, stair climbing has shown a variety of health benefits, including improved bone density in postmenopausal women, increases in "good" HDL cholesterol in the blood, and improved leg strength, which may result in fewer falls and injuries in elderly people. Also the National Osteoporosis Foundation recommends weight bearing exercise (Weight bearing activity simply means your bones and muscles are working against gravity as you exercise) such as stair climbing, hiking or jogging.
